  • May 2002 (San Jose, CA) - Spoke at the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference as part of the "Community Wireless Round Table".
  • January 2002 (Seattle, WA) - Spoke at the second Community Wireless Summit meeting hosted by Seattle Wireless.
  • December 2001 (Austin, TX) - Gave presentation titled "Community Networks: What You Should Know" at the "Eye For Wireless" conference.
  • September 2001 (Portland, OR) - Gave short presentation on the basics of community wireless at the ITEC Conference.
  • July 2001 (Las Vegas, NV) - Spoke at Defcon 9 with Bruce Potter of the Shmoo Group about wireless security] and captive portals.
  • June 2001 (Portland, OR)- Organised the first meeting of various community networking groups from all around North America for a community wireless summit.
