Below is my plea to Apple to have AirTunes support added to the iPhone. It seems like an odd oversight that this functionality isn't built into the iPhone by default, however the infuriating thing is that Apple has placed terms and conditions into the iPhone SDK which restricts companies like Rogue Amoeba from porting their awesome AirFoil application to the iPhone (despite lots of requests).
Sadly Apple doesn't have a great track record when it comes to listening to customers, but we can hope. If you would like to add your voice to the mix you can do so here.
Please allow the streaming of music from my iPhone to the AirPort Express boxes I have in my house. Since purchasing my first Airport Express a couple years ago I've come to love and "depend" on them for music in my home.
Now that I am an iPhone customer it would be wonderful to be able to stream music from my iPhone to my Express via AirTunes. This seems like an odd oversight so I'm imagining that there is some legal or technical reason why it is difficult, but please know that you would have hoards of happy customers if this was possible.
If for some reason it's not possible or desirable for Apple to include this functionality into the iPhone directly allowing a third party to develop an application similar to AirFoil but for the iPhone would be a wonderful alternative (I believe it's not currently possible without breaching the terms and conditions of the iPhone SDK).
I have quiet dreams of being able to go to a friends house and play a new favourite track from my iPhone onto a friends Express enabled stereo.
Please make me happy!
