I just stumbled across a staggeringly beautiful documentary on Maori Television called "A Farmer's Days On Earth" and sadly I can't find any information about it on either IMDB or Google.

It was a very simple story of a small organic Swedish farmer who ran his farm in the traditional ways. It was mostly just shots of him working the farm, talking to his wife and the scenery interlaced with his commentary (in subtitles) about why he thinks this type of farming is important, what he fears is coming and a little bit of EU politics. Towards the he discovers that he has terminal cancer and the movie focuses more on that.

Highly recommended ... if you can find it.

Update June 2009: Trying to track down the New Zealand made documentary "The GodMachine" reminded me of this and I did another round of Googling. The additional piece of information is taht according to tki.org.nz it was photographed by Peter Gerdehag. The Swedish Wikipedia page on Peter Gerdehag says that the film is actually called "Farmer's Time on Earth".
